Rexhep Rexhepi won the 2026 Aiguille d’Or, the top prize at the Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, for his Chronograph Flyback. The award was presented at the 26th edition of the ceremony in Geneva on November 7.
The GPHG’s official prize list confirms the win. Rexhepi is an independent Swiss-Kosovan watchmaker based in Geneva, and the Aiguille d’Or is selected from watches entered across the competition.
The Chronograph Flyback features a storm-blue Grand Feu enamel dial inspired by vintage pocket-watch chronographs. Its proportions required a complete rethink of the movement’s architecture, according to the watch’s description.
New categories and other winners
This year’s competition included 84 watches and clocks. Organisers replaced the traditional Men’s and Ladies’ divisions with technical categories called Essential Watch and Complication Watch.
Other top category awards went to Chopard’s L.U.C 1860 Chronometer for Time Only, Daniel Roth’s Extra Plat Rose Gold Skeleton for Essential, and Blancpain’s Grande Double Sonnerie for Mechanical Exception. Audemars Piguet received the Calendar and Astronomy prize for its 150 Heritage pocket watch.
The jury included watch collectors, watchmakers, journalists and auctioneers. Rexhepi’s win follows Breguet’s Classique Souscription 2025, which received the Aiguille d’Or in 2025.
