Heidi Klum arrived at her 25th annual Halloween party in New York on October 31 dressed as a giant severed version of her own left hand. The costume featured dangling tendons and ligaments, with blood around her mouth, while helpers in blood-stained hazmat suits accompanied her.

The event was held at Cathédrale, a restaurant at Moxy East Village, according to the Associated Press. Klum said the idea came to her while looking at her hand and wondering whether she could fit her whole body inside an enlarged replica.

Building the oversized hand

Prosthetics artist Mike Marino worked with Klum on the design. Reporting by CBS News said the project involved a foam-and-latex structure, harnesses and mechanisms to move parts of the costume. Its design began taking shape after Halloween in 2025.

Klum spent about five to six hours getting into the outfit. She did not wear the giant hand for the entire evening, later removing it while keeping her facial makeup. The construction left only her eyes and mouth visible, creating the effect of a person enclosed inside the oversized prop.

The annual party has become a showcase for elaborate celebrity costumes. Actor Kyle MacLachlan also attended, wearing his Cliff Vandercave outfit from the 1994 film The Flintstones.
