A fire was reported at Russia’s Afipsky oil refinery overnight after a drone attack, but damage at the facility has not been independently confirmed. The refinery is in the Krasnodar region, and footage circulating on social media appeared to show smoke rising from the site, Euronews reported.

The Kyiv Independent also reported that the refinery was targeted overnight from November 5 to 6, citing a Ukrainian monitoring channel. The report said local authorities had not commented at the time, and the details could not be immediately verified.

Ukraine’s General Staff says Afipsky can process about 6.25 million tonnes of oil annually. Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate has said the facility also helps supply fuel to the Russian military.

Russian attacks kill one in Ukraine

Separately, Ukraine’s air force said Russian forces launched 227 drones at the country from Thursday evening into Friday morning. In an update issued at 8 a.m., it said air defences had shot down or neutralised 196 drones, while about 15 attack drones remained in the air.

Oleksandr Koval, head of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration, said a man was killed in a morning attack on the region. Three people were injured in overnight strikes in Kyiv Oblast’s Boryspil district, according to regional administration head Timur Tkachenko.

Tkachenko said a private house and an outbuilding caught fire and were completely destroyed. Energy infrastructure was also damaged in the Bila Tserkva and Obukhiv districts, he said.
