President Donald Trump is set to discuss Republicans’ midterm losses, congressional investigations and the wars in Iran and Ukraine in a 60 Minutes interview scheduled to air Sunday. CBS News said correspondent Ross Douthat conducted the interview at the White House on Friday.
The interview is Trump’s first sit-down with the program since Democrats’ sweeping midterm victories, according to CBS News. The network said the conversation also covered the economy.
CBS projected that Democrats would take control of both the House and Senate. At the time of the announcement, Democrats had gained more than 40 House seats, with more than two dozen races uncalled. They had also picked up seven Senate seats, while contests in Mississippi and Alaska remained too close to call, the network reported.
The interview was scheduled to air Sunday at 7 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and Paramount+. CBS said an extended version would be published on YouTube Sunday night. The seat counts were projections, with several races still unresolved.
