A shooting in central Krakow killed six people and injured several others on Saturday, November 7, 2026. Police wounded and detained the 25-year-old Polish suspect, while authorities said he had used military weapons.

Hours after the attack, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said three more bodies had been found at the suspect’s home. The house was still being searched, according to the report.

Poland’s interior minister described the suspect as having been inspired by “far-right ideologies.” Authorities have not announced further details about the people found at the home or their connection, if any, to the shooting.

Footage authenticated by BBC Verify showed people running inside two buildings before a black car with an open front window passed, followed by a police vehicle. Separate video captured the sound of gunshots in Krakow’s Main Market Square, the BBC reported.

The shooting took place in the city’s central market square. The suspect was a Polish citizen, according to the report. The Associated Press also reported six deaths and said authorities described the attacker as holding ultranationalist views.
